About us

We are at the forefront of cutting-edge research in NDT, leveraging ultrasonic technologies across diverse and impactful fields. From ensuring the safety of nuclear power plants to advancing aerospace and optimizing manufacturing processes, our work spans industries critical to modern innovation. Our dedicated teams specialize in developing non-destructive testing solutions for composite structures, castings, adhesive bonds, industrial objects with complex geometries, and advanced inspections for battery packs and housings.

  • The main area of interest covers development of new advanced ultrasonic measurement, imaging and non-destructive techniques for extreme conditions (high temperatures, strong radioactive radiation, high pressure and chemical activity), non-conventional applications of NDT, monitoring and quality control
  • The Institute’s staff possess specific knowledge and unique know-how on development of ultrasonic measurement techniques for non-conventional applications; ultrasonic long range testing techniques using ultrasonic guided waves; air-coupled NDT ultrasonic technologies; techniques of signal processing and modelling
  • The Institute‘s research activity is realised during long-term projects and contracts with Lithuanian and foreign companies, also in cooperation with other Lithuanian and foreign scientific research institutions
  • The innovative ultrasonic diagnostic technologies are based on fundamental and applied research exploiting acoustics, mathematical physics, materials science, numerical modelling, electronics, signal and image processing
